Miss Squeak Talks About Miss Mildred The Chihuahua!

Hello everyone Miss Mildred and I hope you are all well and happy ! Today I thought I would talk about my furbaby chihuahua Miss Mildred as it is  getting very cold here in Western Australia and gee little Miss Mildred feels the cold so very badly and people might think that I am dressing her just so she looks cute but oh no its because she is so tiny and has very short fur and hardly any body fat hence I do enjoy finding her cute outfits to wear and yes she has shoes to keep her feet warm and sandals for summer to keep her feet from getting burnt on the ground !
Miss Mildred is not a toy or a rat she is a real dog with teeth and real attitude  and she might be small but she thinks she is bigger the all other dogs ! We have been constantly training her so she is the happy well rounded furbaby we want and by doing so she knows how far she is able to push us but we are the ones she looks to for  guidance I am having trouble with getting her to sleep in her nice warm cozy bed at night she will stay in her bed until I turn the tv off and then its like mum mum let me in the bed with you and daddy over the last  few nights we have been trying our hardest to get her to sleep in her bed and gee it is like have a toddler all over again every half hour her little face would be looking up at me and her cute little feet where tapping at the edge of the bed its has been like the battle of the bedroom and yup for all the good advice I might give in my Blog this has been the hardest habit to get out of as you might know Miss Mildred and I spend our time between two homes
so when I am home alone I like her to sleep with me I know bad Miss Squeak bad I am trying hard to break the habit as now only Miss Mildred and I will be in the bedroom alone as poor old man river is gone now , So maybe we can break the habit fingers crossed its like when you have a baby and its crying what do you do hmmm I would pick them up and sooth them then my boys might end up in my bed hahaha yes I was one of them mothers so I understand why my little cute adorable Miss Mildred ends up in the bed so its just a short blog today as I am still getting over the loss of Sebastion things are just not the same around here with out him ! Miss Squeak Talks The Loss Of A Furbaby !

Okay this little Blog is about the loss of a very special little man that i have spoken about in a blog before Old Man River aka Sebastion he has been very sick over the last few years and has gotten worse in the last four months I talked about his new medication for his fluid on his heart lungs and liver the pressure of the fluid was making it very hard of him to pump the blood around his little body so over the last 2 weeks he has not been his self at all  he just wanted to sit and stare off into the sky or the swimming pool he didn't want to play with his toys nor did he want to have his favourite treats either. As my mum is away on holiday on the other side of Australia and we are here in Perth Western Australia it was hard for her to know her furbaby was so poorly and unwell. Last Sunday I called my mum with the update of Sebastions health and after many tears we decided it was his time to go off to the land of happiness and joy with no pain, we had Sebastion on lots of medication for his heart his pain from his operations he has had on his hips and knees and he was just not responding to the new meds that were meant to assist him in being able to breath and just go about being a furbaby. But He was crying out in pain all night and day i had to help him to the toilet and he was just not copping very well so with heavy hearts we made the appointment for the vets on Monday
he had a wonderful life and his last night was full of all the things he loved family food cuddles and just about anything he wanted. To keep him here with us would be selfish as he was in so much pain. Its was so hard knowing it was his last night I cried  all night and couldn't sleep a wink it was horrible I had the support of my loving partner Monster and my little chihuahua
Miss Mildred, as the night turned into day I was feel sick in the tummy knowing what was to come
we entered the vets where Sebastion has been a client since he was a pup. The staff were loving and so very supportive in every way they knew this day was on the cards as he goes to get clipped every 6 weeks where they have to sedate him I know he was only 12 years old and he lived  a very loving spoilt life, which didn't make going into the vets room any easier, once inside the room Sebastion was given a sedative to relax him
I had him in my arms rocking him like the baby he was soon the time came to have the other needle and out came the clipper I thought he would put up a fight as he hates the sound of the clippers and they have to normally give him for medication then they had to be able to clip him but he was brave and allowed Jodie the vet nurse to clip his little leg and them in my arms they put the needle in and within about 1 minute I felt his soul leave his body and he was gone it was ever so fast and I cried so much I know people will say that it was wrong to do this but it was the the only option left for him and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. When we got home all the other furbabys were waiting at the front door for him to come in its like they know.
Miss Mildred wouldn't let me out of her sight its very strange to not have him snorting and snoring but he is in the land of happiness and joy  pain free and chasing all the birds and postmen he can find! Below I have a few things that might help you with the loss of your Furbaby !

Am I crazy to hurt so much?

Intense grief over the loss of a furbaby  is normal and natural. Don't let anyone tell you that it's silly, crazy, or overly sentimental to grieve!
During the years you spent with your furbaby (even if they were few), it became a significant and constant part of your life. It was a source of comfort and companionship, of unconditional love and acceptance, of fun and joy. So don't be surprised if you feel devastated by the loss of such a relationship.
People who don't understand the pet/owner bond may not understand your pain. All that matters, however, is how you feel. Don't let others dictate your feelings: They are valid, and may be extremely painful. But remember, you are not alone: Thousands of furbaby owners have gone through
 the same feelings.

What Can I Expect to Feel?
Different people experience grief in different ways. Besides your sorrow and loss, you may also experience the following emotions:

Guilt may occur if you feel responsible for your pet's death-the "if only I had been more careful" syndrome. It is pointless and often erroneous to burden yourself with guilt for the accident or illness that claimed your pet's life, and only makes it more difficult to resolve your grief.

Denial makes it difficult to accept that your pet is really gone. It's hard to imagine that your pet won't greet you when you come home, or that it doesn't need its evening meal. Some pet owners carry this to extremes, and fear their pet is still alive and suffering somewhere. Others find it hard to get a new pet for fear of being "disloyal" to the old.

Anger may be directed at the illness that killed your pet, the driver of the speeding car, the veterinarian who "failed" to save its life. Sometimes it is justified, but when carried to extremes, it distracts you from the important task of resolving your grief.

Depression is a natural consequence of grief, but can leave you powerless to cope with your feelings. Extreme depression robs you of motivation and energy, causing you to dwell upon your sorrow.

What am I able to do regarding my feelings?

The most vital step you'll take is to be honest regarding your feelings. Do not deny your pain, or your feelings of anger and guilt. Only by examining and coming back to terms along with your feelings are you able to begin to figure through them.

You have a right to feel pain and grief! Somebody you really loved has died, and you are feeling alone and mourning. You've got a right to feel anger and guilt, as well. Acknowledge your feelings 1st, then ask yourself whether or not the circumstances really justify them.

Locking away grief does not make it escape. Express it. Cry, scream, pound the ground, talk it out. Do what helps you the most. Don't try and avoid grief by not thinking about your pet; instead, envision the nice times. this may assist you understand what your pet's loss really means to you.

Some realize it useful to express their feelings and reminiscences in poems, stories, or letters to the pet. Alternative ways as well as rearranging your schedule to fill within the times you'd have spent together with your pet; preparing a memorial like a photograph collage; and talking to others regarding your loss.

When is the right time to euthanize a pet?

Your Furbaby Vet is the best judge of your pet's physical condition; but, you're the best judge of the quality of your pet's everyday life. If a pet has a good appetite,
responds to attention, seeks its owner's company, and participates in play or family life, many owners feel that
this is often not the time. However, if a pet is in
constant pain, undergoing tough and nerve-racking treatments that are not helping greatly, unresponsive to affection, unaware of its surroundings, and tired of life, a caring pet owner can in all probability favor to finish the beloved companion's suffering.

Evaluate your pet's health honestly and unselfishly along with your Furbaby Vet. Prolonging a pet's suffering so as to stop your own ultimately helps neither of you. Nothing can make this call a straightforward or painless one, however it's actually the ultimate act of affection that you will make for your pet.

Should I stay during euthanasia?

Many feel this is often the ultimate gesture of affection and comfort you'll be able to provide your furbaby. Some feel relief and comfort themselves by staying: They were able to see that their pet passed peacefully and without pain, and that it was really gone. For many, not witnessing the death (and not seeing the body) makes it harder to just accept that the pet is absolutely gone. However, this could be traumatic, and you want to ask yourself honestly whether or not you may be ready to handle it. Uncontrolled emotions and tears-though natural-are likely to upset your pet.

Will my other furbabys grieve?

Furbabys observe change in the family social unit, and are certain to notice the absence of a companion. Pets typically form strong attachments to one another, and therefore the survivor of such a pair could seem to grieve for its companion. Cats grieve for dogs, and dogs for cats.

You may need to offer your living pets plenty of additional attention and love to help them through this period. keep in mind that, if you're aiming to introduce a replacement pet, your living pets might not settle for the newcomer at once, however new bonds can grow in time. Meanwhile, the love of your living pets will be splendidly healing for your own grief.

I hope this has helped you with some of your concerns about the loss of a Furbaby !

Miss Squeak Talks Furbaby BathTime!

Okay so it time to bath my furbaby .
Little Miss Mildred doesn't really like to be bathed but
I make her have one at least once a week and if I don't completely bath her I will wipe her over with a warm wet towel just to get her loose fur off of her and clip her toe nails too every few weeks. But my other furbabys in my pack are bathed once a week and  groomed every six weeks as they have fur that grows very long and if not looked after and brushed regularly it get very mattered.
As we don't want this to happen and we live in  a hot  climate we keep them clipped for most of the year and yup I am the who get to groom most of them but not
Old Man River Sebastion he has to go to the furbaby doctors to be sedated and clipped as he gets very stress and tries to bite anyone that tries to clip his face and its  is no a cheap execise at $170 bucks a clip every six weeks he has got other problems that also add up so his other nickname is Bling Bling as we could be covered in gold with the amount of money we have spend on him but he is worth every penny !
As you can see in the picture below all my furbabys like to be on the bed so its very important that they are all clean and smell nice. I am lucky to have all my furbabys  in my life they all have very different likes and dislikes just like toddlers they are just full of excitement and joy most of the time and they all know their place in the pack and who they can cuddle up to and who they can't mainly Sebastion is off limits because he is the oldest and is going blind the little furbabys
Miss Mildred and Sir Odin want to play with him but the greats them with his teeth bared and a little grow just to let them know that he is out of bounds to them!
But if he is cold he will allow they to sleep next to him which is funny but maybe he might just start to like them in the long run I really do hope so.
Miss Mildred and I would love to hear any of your stories about your furbabys bath time adventures
just let us know in the comments below and thank you so very much for reading my blog about Miss Mildreds adventures in the big world !

Miss Squeak Talks Furbaby Body Language!

Today I thought I would talk about the body language of our furbabys so lets get started,
I’m certain you perceive how human intention and emotion work as a result of you experience them each yourself on a daily basis. But however are you able to tell what a furbabys emotions and intentions are?
Luckily, furbabys cannot hide either one from us. We are those who might not perceive how clearly the dog is communicating. For a dog, feeling is displayed through body language, whereas intention is displayed through motion.

When a furbaby isn't in a calm state, it solely has 3 instinctual movements: fight, flight, or rejection. In fight mode, the dog moves forward, and in flight mode it runs away. A dog might or might not move away in rejection, however it'll do everything else to not face the situation at hand.
Fight, flight, and rejection are the standard terms that animal behaviorists use, however they could be somewhat deceptive as a result of the connotations they have. In a different way to consider them is as advance, retreat, and ignore.

An excited furbaby and an aggressive furbaby might both move forward toward an individual or different animal, however one of them is playful and therefore the alternative one is threatening. Likewise, a furbaby might run away in concern or it's going to run away to begin a game of chase with another furbaby.
This is wherever the furbaby’s emotion comes into it and combines with the dog’s intention to form the dog’s overall energy and, as I discussed above, dogs categorical their emotions through body language.

Every a part of the furbaby is engaged, however the necessary ones to look at are the head, ears, tail, and back. The higher a furbaby’s head, ears, and tail are, the more dominant it's feeling, and therefore the lower they are, the more submissive or unsure the furbaby is feeling.

Another issue to look at for is tension, significantly within the dog’s back and legs. The more tense a dog is, the higher its energy level, sort of a spring being force taut. In each cases, they reach a degree where they snap — the spring shoots back to its regular size, and therefore the dog lunges forward.

A good example of a “fight” intention changed by body language to form positive energy is once a dog does a play bow to interact another dog. The motion is forward, however the front of the furbaby’s body is low to the bottom. The intention is excitement however the feeling is friendly, that the energy is playful.

Here’s an opposite example: a furbaby might have its head, ears, and tail all raised. maybe it’s showing its teeth, and perhaps the hackles on its back are up similarly, but it's slowly backing away. The body language is showing aggression, however the intent is flight. Despite the aggressive show, this is often a dog that's scared of something.

It can be simple to misinterpret a furbaby’s energy if we don’t think about each both and intention. Some dogs express extreme submission by pulling their lips back to point out their teeth. Now, lots of individuals would see the dog’s teeth and assume that it’s on the brink of attack, but they’re missing the remainder of what the dog is saying.
If a dog shows its teeth but they’re together, the ears are force back along the head, the eyes are squinting, the dog lowers its body and leans away, then the dog is really retreating submissively and practicing rejection. Likewise, a dog might come back charging at you, however if its body is relaxed, its tail is level and wagging, and there’s no tension within the body, then it's showing excitement.

Furbabys can’t tell us in words what they’re thinking and feeling because they don’t have to. They’re expressing themselves constantly through motion and body language — intention times emotion equals energy. Once we learn the way to know these, a full world of communication with our dogs opens up.
Stay calm, and listen to your furbaby!

Miss Mildred and I would love to hear any of your stories you might have about yourself and your furbabys feel free to post them in the comments below we wish you a wonderful week !

Miss Squeaks How To Make Your Furbaby Laugh!

Hello everyone hope you are all well and happy, Miss Mildred and I have been having lots of fun this week as I have been playing with her lots this week while teaching her some new tricks but while I was playing with her i thought she was laughing so I started to do some research on the matter and found a very cool article and the said subject hence this little blog on show to make your dog laugh and as I am a little weird and silly I have given it a go and yes it works very well ! I found getting into the puppy play bow on all fours with my butt in the air with the breathing pattern worked a treat with my little Miss Mildred I also am going t talk bait about dreaming and furbaby smiles so let stet started !

Here are a few things I think about !
As your furbaby slumbers by your side, and starts to twitch and wiggle is she dreaming of you? Will she feel guilty concerning stealing your cut of meat off the kitchen counter and ingestion it for dinner? What is she trying to mention with that annoying bark? Does she like looking at the TV?

After decades of analysis, neuroscientists have begun to answer such queries, giving us access to the once-secret inner lives of our furbaby companions and even translating their barks and wags so mere humans can comprehend them.

At the forefront of this effort is Stanley Coren, a behaviourist from the University of British Columbia, who draws on decades of research to explore the psychological motivations behind dogs’ everyday behaviours, additionally as what science says concerning their barks, thoughts, and dreams.

Do Dogs Experience identical Emotions as People?

Dogs have identical brain structures that manufacture emotions in humans. they have identical hormones and endure identical chemical changes that humans do throughout emotional states. Dogs even have the hormone oxytocin, that in humans is attached  love and feeling. thus it looks reasonable to counsel that dogs even have emotions kind of like ours. However, it's necessary to not go overboard: The mind of a dog is roughly similar to that of a person's who is two to 2½ years old. A toddler that age clearly has emotions, however not all potential emotions, since several emerge later within the path to adulthood.

Dogs undergo their biological process stages rather more quickly than humans do, attaining their full emotional vary by the time they're four to six months recent. very similar to a person's youngster, a dog has the basic emotions: joy, fear, anger, disgust, excitement, happiness, distress, and even love. A dog doesn't have, and can not develop, a lot of complicated emotions, like guilt, pride, contempt, and shame, however.

You might argue that your dog has shown proof of feeling guilt. in the usual scenario, you come home and your dog starts slinking around and showing discomfort, and you then notice his smelly brown deposit on your bedroom floor. It's natural to conclude that the dog’s actions show a sense of guilt concerning its transgression. However, this can be merely the more basic feeling of worry. The dog has learned that when you appear and his faeces are visible on the ground, bad things happen to him. What you see is that the dog’s worry of punishment; he can never feel guilt. He will never feel shame, thus feel free to decorate him in that ridiculous party costume.

For example, a dreaming pointer could instantly begin looking for game, a sleeping spaniel could flush an imaginary bird, and a dreaming Doberman pinscher could pick a fight with a dream thief.

It is an odd undeniable fact that little dogs have additional dreams than massive dogs do. A dog as little as a poodle could dream once each ten minutes, whereas an outsized dog like a working dog or a great Dane may have regarding about hour between dreams. On the opposite hand, the large dog’s dreams last longer

Do Dogs Smile?

In the minds of the general public, the equivalent of a dog’s smiling is when he's wagging his tail. However there's truly one canine facial expression that comes near what we tend to mean by smiling in humans. During this expression, slightly opened jaws reveal the dog’s tongue covering out over his front teeth. frequently the eyes take on a teardrop form at the same time, as if being force upward slightly at the outer corners. it's an informal expression that's typically seen once the dog is relaxed, playing, or interacting socially, particularly with folks. the instant any anxiety or stress is introduced, the dog’s mouth closes and you can not see the tongue.

Dogs also are capable of laughing, and they generally do thus once they are playing. Canine laughter begins with the Furbabys equivalent of smiling but additionally includes a sound that's very similar to panting. Several years ago, animal behaviorist Patricia Simonet at Sierra nevada school by lake tahoe recorded those sounds while dogs played. On analyzing the recordings, she found that they involved a broader range of frequencies than does regular dog panting. In one experiment, Simonet noticed  that puppies romped for joy when they heard recordings of those sounds; in another, she was ready to show that these same sounds helped to calm dogs in an animal shelter.

How To Make Your Dog Laugh

Humans will imitate sounds of dog laughter, however it takes conscious watching of mouth shape to induce the sound pattern right. manufacturing dog laughter properly, says Coren, can create your dog sit up, wag his tail, approach you from across the space, and even laugh along.

Round your lips slightly to form a “hhuh” sound. Note: The sound has got to be breathy with no actual voicing, that means that if you touch your throat whereas creating this sound, you should not feel any vibration.
Use an open-mouthed smiling expression to form a “hhah” sound. Again, breathe the sound; don't voice it.
Combine steps one and two to form canine laughter. It ought to sound like “hhuh-hhah-hhuh-hhah.”

So hope you have enjoyed this little blog for me Miss Squeak and my sweet cute loveable chihuahua Miss Mildred and we are looking forward to writing many more blogs on all things furbaby related and if you have any kinds of ideas or suggestions for this blog we would love to know about them !

Miss Squeak Talks Miss Mildreds Weekend !

Hello to everyone that has come to have a little read about a day in Miss Mildred life like today !
Well just like everyday this little girl wakes up between me Miss Squeak and her daddy Monsterface along with her brother
George Wobble. The day starts with me running down stairs with the little Miss Mildred in my arms because if she is let on to the floor she will wee yup I know its the curse of the small chihuahua bladder its not her fault if  she has an accident  its just something we have to deal with and the solution is I run down the stairs with her in my arms nearly falling down them at times but its the answer to not having the little girl wee on the floor or carpet so after we have gone outside for a wee wee. Its back upstairs with a nice cuppa tea for the Monster and a big cuddle. Then after I have a shower get my hair washed and dried off we go downstairs and Monster makes some yummie breakfast for us then its a little play on the couch and then its time for a bath. I try to bath Miss Mildred every 2 weeks but if she is extra stinky it might be once a week ! This weekend
Miss Mildred got to have a video shoot with her daddy and fur brother for
The Oompah Roundabout youtube channel !
I also did some picture shooting as well and yay some of them came out kinda well, Like the first photo on my blog it was taken today and I think she looks just beautiful. So what do you like to do with your furbabys every day do you have a set routine that you do ? Everyday Miss Mildred has lunch at around 1pm everyday and gee if we don't feed the furbabys at this time all hell breaks out with the barking in the kitchen and the crazy running around the house its strange how they become use to the something everyday its just like habits !
Along with if you put on your walking shoes my furbabys get excited as they think they are going walking so this is some bad habits I am trying to train out of them. What problems have you had with your furbabys ? Miss Mildred and I would love to hear about them ! Just a short Blog on Miss Mildred this time, Oh Sebastian is feeling much better with himself and is up on his paws again its still touch and go but he is much much better and I couldn't be happier ! Another thing we are about to change is the food we feed our furbabys as they are starting to not eat it so we are going to start cooking for them again then we can regulate the stuff thats in it so wish us luck with the new project have a wonderful day !!
