Miss Squeaks Ten Easy Furbaby Tricks .

Shake Hands
Start by having your dog sit. Say, “Shake hands,” and take his paw together with your hand. Hold his paw and say, “Good dog!” let go of his paw. do that a couple of times on a daily basis.

Tip
After a short while, say, “Shake hands,” however don’t take his paw. See if he raises his paw by himself. If not, keep showing him what to try and do by spoken communication, “Shake hands,” and taking his paw together with your hand. Your dog isn't slow; he's simply learning!

High Five
Start by having your dog shake. If your dog doesn't shake, simply touch the  back of her paw and say shake. Once your dog starts to supply her paw, flip your  hand up therefore your hand is facing your dog. begin spoken communication “high five” whereas holding your hand up. once yoour dog hits  your hand along with her paw, quickly say smart dog and reward with a  treat. once your dog starts to hit your hand along with her paw, begin to slightly raise  your hand higher and higher.  Keep raising your hand till you'll stand and your dog jumps up to high 5  your hand. Reward your dog as soon as she does.  Hold your right hand within the air once more and say the command “high five” however don't reach for your dog’s paw. Hopefully he can place his paw against your hand. enable him the opportunity to try and do it on his own before you reach for his paw. If he does it on his own, reward him straightaway with treats or praise.

Tip
They should first know how to shake before teaching this

 Speak
Choose a game that your dog likes to play, like catch with a ball, or hide and obtain with a toy. Then get him excited by spoken communication, “Let’s play! want to play?” and show him the ball or toy. Jump and act silly thus he barks then say, “Good dog, speak!” Then play the sport as his reward for learning “Speak”.

Tip
You can’t create a dog bark, however you'll get him happy and excited therefore he desires to bark. after a while, your dog can bark once you say, “Speak.”Caution! If you've got a dog that already causes hassle thanks to his barking, you would possibly not wish to encourage this behavior. If you opt it’s okay to teach it, take care to show ‘quiet’, too, however do it at another time.

Play Dead
Have your dog lie on his tummy. As you gently roll him over on his side, say, “Take a nap.” whereas he's lying on his side, keeping his head on the ground, say, “Take a nap.” Don’t offer him a treat. Encourage him to remain there for a few of seconds. Then say, “Ok” or “Wake up!”, let him rise, and provides him his reward.

Tip
You can use the treat to lure your dog into a lying down position. Don’t offer your a dog a reward while he's lying down. offer him a treat once he has completed the trick.

Beg Say Please
Have your dog sit, facing you. Hold his favorite treat simply higher than his head and tell him, “Say please.” Your dog can in all probability raise his front feet off the ground to achieve the treat. As soon as the feet are upraised, even alittle bit, offer him the treat.

Tip
This is a tough trick for many dogs. Wait a bit longer each time before giving the treat, however watch out to not let your dog go over on his back. you're helping your dog develop his balance. Be kind and solely do that a few of times.

Kiss
Here’s a straightforward one: anytime your dog licks your face, say, “Give me a kiss. smart boy! give me a kiss.” If he isn’t a licker, place a bit paste on your cheek and say, “Give me a kiss.” once he licks it off say, “Give me a kiss,” again.

Tip
Tricks like this work as a result of you put words with one thing your dog does. Pretty shortly your dog hears “Give me a kiss,” and thinks about licking your face. Then you offer him a hug, rub his ears and say, “Good boy!” Dogs love that.

Fetch
If your dog doesn’t fetch naturally, have an adult cut a slit in a tennis ball (a smaller, rubber ball if that's too big). place some treats within the ball. Show your dog that there are treats in there, and offer her one. Then, throw the ball. beginning starting, run along with her and obtain the ball; then offer her the treat. before long you maybe ready to throw the ball and she or he will go get it (because she really wants the treat!).

Tip
After your dog has discovered what he has got to do to get a treat, begin throwing the ball twice in a very row while not giving him the treat. What you're making an attempt to try and do is offer him the treats less and fewer usually so sometime he won’t need the treats within the ball to fetch it.

Take a Bow
after you see your dog take a giant stretch, together with his head down low, say, “Take a bow.” anytime he wakes up and stretches, say, “Take a bow.” sometime you may say, “Take a bow.” and your dog can take a giant stretch, however it'll appear as if he's bowing. As soon as he's finished, offer him the treat.

Tricks like this work because you place words with one thing your dog does. it's going to take some dogs longer than others to work this one out. Some dogs learn it during a week and a few take years…yes, years! however sooner or later you may say, “Take a bow,” and perhaps, just maybe, your dog can take a bow.

Wave ByeBye
Your dog ought to know how to shake hands before learning this trick. Face your dog and hold out your hand as if you're progressing to shake. once your dog lifts her paw to shake, don’t grab it, simply pull back your hand, and say “Wave”. Then offer your dog a treat.

Tip
At first your dog might not raise her paw terribly high. however once she realizes that you’re progressing to offer her a treat if she holds it up there, she’ll catch on. you will need to tease her a bit together with your hand so she thinks you're progressing to shake along with her. Waving your hand a bit might help to get her paw into a waving motion furthermore.

Go to Bed
“Go to bed” means that go to the bed AND lie. you must only need to say “Go to bed”. Put a bed, blanket, or towel 6-10 feet removed from you. together with your dog beside you say “Go to bed!” then together go to the bed. Have your dog lie on the bed, offer her a treat, and praise. Repeat over and over. Later on, attempt sending your dog by herself. At first, make certain that somebody is waiting at the bed with a treat. Later, your dog can do it herself, and you may walk over to her while she is lying down and reward her.

Miss Squeak Talks Chihuahuas.

Miss Squeak here and today I am going to talk about Chihuahuas and a few tips and tricks i have learnt along the way with my little furbaby Miss Mildred, And trust me it might just help you out in the long run, in the picture below is my little girl she was stung by a bee and the stinger was still in her bottom lip I was so scared I was shaking just the her . And do you think she would allow me anywhere near her and simple no was the answer. I had to wrap her in a blanket just to get the stinger out then I put ice on  the area she was stung . Yet I was still concerned about the swelling as her little cute face was starting to look like a apple alright one without a nose. I had called my vet who told me if the swelling didn't stop to give her some antihistamine to stop the swelling and the reaction very scary indeed as I had only had Miss Mildred for two months but after giving her the medicine and putting the ice on her the swelling it started to ease up but her cute Chihuahua face was still swollen for a few more days silly little girl , what are some of the scary things your furbaby has done?  Do tell me in the moments below I would love to know.

Now lets get ready to  start . Chihuahua Potty-Training and Breaking-in Potty-training is a vital method that each owner should undergo with their Chihuahua. Unless you propose on keeping your in a confined yard (not recommended), you'll need to show them to use the lavatory outside and not within the house. sadly, however, Chihuahuas have a infamous name for being a breed that is tough and downright stubborn to train. In fact, some homeowners throw in the flag and easily lay out pee pads for them instead. the reality is that practically any Chihuahua, regardless of however old they're, will be toilet-trained once it's done properly and under the correct circumstances.
Although Chihuahuas may be successfully toilet-trained at any age, it's suggested that you simply begin as shortly you bring them into your home, ideally once they are still a puppy. throughout the primary 6-12 months of a Chihuahua's life, their brains are developing at a speedy pace so, they're going to naturally catch on to routines and consistency. you'll use this to your advantage by ingraining the fundamental potty-training commands in your Chihuahua's head. once they learn these principles at an early age, it'll keep it up with them well into their adult years, creating the potty-training method easier for the each of you.

Chihuahua Potty-Training - where should I Start? How to house-break your Furbaby Chihuahua It's easy to feel lost and confused once you first bring your Chihuahua home. you are busy making an attempt to line up their bed, ensure they have food, water, blankets, and you are probably busy fidgeting with them also. whereas all of this fine, you wish to put potty-training at the highest of your list of priorities for them. As stated above, it's crucial that you just begin teaching them the fundamentals of wherever using the lavatory is appropriate and where it is not.
Before you begin trying to potty-train your Chihuahua, you will need to pick up a couple of basic things first. these things are necessary to encourage smart behavior, also as stop unhealthy behavior. Here are the items you may need:
1-2 boxes of little milk bone treats for pleasing smart behavior.

A crate that is simply large enough for your Chihuahua to stand up and switch around in.Small, comfy bed with a few soft blankets.Soft, non-abrasive collar with a leash that is a minimum of 10-feet long.  Potty-Training BasicsOne of the key factors to successfully potty-training your Chihuahua is letting them grasp once they do one thing bad. once you see them do their business on the ground within your home, quickly walk over to them and at once say "No!" or "Bad boy/girl!" you ought to never physically spank or hit your Chihuahua, as this could injure them and make it tougher to coach them. Instead, continue a powerful verbal statement letting them grasp that what they did is unacceptable. Chihuahuas are quite emotional, and verbally telling them no while pointing at them is all it takes to urge the message across. No matter however hard you are trying to stop it, accidents can happen. It's an inevitable a part of owning any indoor dog, despite the breed, therefore do not expect your Chihuahua to be any completely different. when you see them piss or pooping within the house, tell them "No!" and walk them outside. while you are walking them, say one thing on the lines of "go potty" or "go pee-pee," as this can help them associate the words with the pottying behavior. it's going to take a while, however stay patient and wait for them to try and do their business. once they are smart and use the toilet outside, offer them a milk bone treat along side countless kissing and praise as a gift for his or her sensible behavior. Treats go a long ways once it involves potty-training and obedience coaching, therefore use them to your advantage.
Another very little trick I've learned that helps to potty-train a Chihuahua is to continuously take them to constant place outside to try and do their business. Chihuahuas have a keen sense of smell and can be able to tell wherever they've used the toilet before. once they encounter a section they've already used the toilet at, they're going to instinctively believe it's a suitable space. you'll begin walking your Chihuahua to alternative parts of the yard once they're older and totally pot-trained, however stick with a chosen space throughout their early puppy years.  This has really worked for me as when   we got Miss Mildred she had been crated with her brothers and sisters and not really potty trained at all and she would just wee and poo any where I had to be on the ball watching her every move and as you have your furbaby Chihuahua you will learn your pups habits Miss Mildred starts to sniff the ground and then starts to circle its her way of letting  me know she needs out . Now she will sit at the  backdoor and give it a scratch. But trust me our little Furbaby Chihuahuas have tiny bladders around the size of a shot glass so if they drink a lot a lots needs to come back out. And sometimes we have a tiny wee wee on the floor big deal don't sweat the small stuff its easy to clean up so keep up with the training and you too can have a toilet trained pup. Good luck and come read again .

Miss Squeaks Furbaby Safety Commands .

So it's a  new day so it's a new blog for me . Lets talk about some basic commands that your furbaby will need to know help keep them safe and sound and out of harms way. Because we all know that vet bills can cost a lot so lets get started.
We teach our kids basic commands that they  have to understand so to prevent them from running out in front of a automobile or putting something dangerous in their mouth. Furbabys ought to also be instructed  commands for identical reason. Whether or not you adopt a puppy or like an older dog because it fits better together with your life style, there are certain basic commands each dog ought to understand. Their safety may depend upon.

“Come” means that to prevent what he’s doing and come back to you. It’s a straightforward command to show, associate degreed necessary in an emergency, if he ought to break loose from his leash or pen, or leap out the outside door once company arrives. The return command helps you control things a lot of easier, and permits you to keep your dog out of harm’s approach.

“Sit” is another straightforward command each dog ought to understand. Dogs get excited once they’re preparing to travel outside or go for a walk. Some have a tough time waiting whereas supper is being ready and a few dogs go bats once the push button rings. Teaching your dog to take a seat and wait helps subdue their excitement thus you'll be able to answer the door, finish their supper or get their leash hooked up to their collar. The sit command additionally works well to keep them from jumping up on individuals.

“Stay” is tougher for a few dogs to be told, however it’s well well worth the time and patience it takes to show it. Dogs don’t continuously perceive they might be at risk, and using stay will stop them from running ahead of a automobile or grabbing one thing they shouldn’t have. It offers you time to get rid of the danger or wait till it’s gone. Staying will be hard for a dog to try and do once he sees one thing he desires, particularly if it’s a cat or squirrel within the yard across the street; but, it’s a necessary command each puppy and dog ought to understand.

“Drop it.” how many times have you ever tried to wrestle one thing out of your dog’s mouth? They don’t understand that the chicken bone clamped between their teeth is harmful for them. rather than you prying their mouth open to retrieve whatever they’ve picked up, the drop it command makes life abundantly easier for you. Knowing this command additionally makes taking part in fetch at lot more fun once your dog returns the ball to you and drops it at your feet or in your hand therefore you'll provides it another toss.

“Leave it” is another sensible command for dogs to grasp, as a result of it can offer you peace of mind knowing they won’t grab one thing they shouldn’t have. Dogs will simply swallow no matter what they’ve picked up if they assume you would like to require it away from them. And dogs are best-known to swallow needles, safety pins and different tiny objects before their homeowners might retrieve the item. The leave it command tells the dog it’s not for him.

“Wait.” This command is usually utilised in conjunction with stay though they're 2 totally different commands used for various reasons. A more energetic dog might have to be keep in restraint for a brief time. Wait tells him it’s not time to travel and he should stay still  until you let him know he can move.

“Okay” could be a command each dog ought to grasp as a result of this releases them from the other command you’ve given him. Okay merely means that the dog is liberated to move.

“No” tells your dog he can’t have one thing, or to prevent doing what he’s doing. No ought to be used to stop unwanted behaviour like chewing, jumping up on you or somebody else, or biting.

“Heel” helps you control your dog while on a walk and after you are around people or dogs. rather than permitting your dog to tug on his leash, heel puts him by your side wherever you've got better management of him should you meet another dog or person while walking.

“Off.” Not everybody enjoys having a dog jump up on them. This command tells them to remain down and to not jump informed you or somebody else. It additionally keeps your dog off the article of furniture.

“Stand” could be a command each dog should know because it makes it easier after you try to offer him a shower or groom him. Teaching him to stand is additionally an enormous help throughout vet examinations or when you try to look at him yourself.

So I hope some of my Commands I have offered up here help you with your furbaby .
I really love teaching my Miss Mildred new commands and tricks she is only 6 months old and I am very impressed with all the commands she has been able to learn remember when your trying to teach your furbaby a new command keep it short and sweet and end each session with a positive . You Can Get Matching Outfits.

This goes hand-in-hand together with your pet desperate to do what you are doing. Not solely can your pet get to dress up, you’ll be matching! It doesn’t get far better than that.

You Can Support Your Favorite Sports And Team Even More.

Sports fanatics rejoice! Nowadays there is more then one way to show your love to your favourite team. Its certain they need a mascot and maybe already have one, however you recognise your pet is cuter anyway. Miss Mildred has her West Coast Eagles jumper she wears with pride. And her AFL football team made it to the grand final and we know its because she wore her jumper every time they played hahaha.

Even one thing as silly as spending every day dressing up your pet is time spent together, and your pet relishes it.

Worst comes To Worst, The New Outfit Will Make A Decent Chew Toy.

So your furbaby doesn’t just like the outfit you picked out. Big deal. He’ll flip it into a chew toy instead and everybody can still be happy. (Of course, do not permit your furbaby to chew on something he will presumably choke on.)

Add A Bit Of Variety to the Routine.

The majority of days during a pet’s life are quite routine. Eating, napping, going for walks … spice up life with every day dress ups that sounds fun and  stand out from the other furbabys ! I love to dress Miss Mildred in all kinds of outfits to suit her mood and to protect her for the elements hence shoes and a cute sundress to keep the sun off her fragile skin and ugg boots with warm woolies of winter weather!

What Pet Wouldn’t Wish To Be the Center of Attention?

Is there anything pets love more than being the center of attention? No? So Dress your Furbaby up and he or she is certain to receive a lot of attention from anyone he or she comes across.

You Wear Garments, Your Furbaby Needs To Wear Them Too.

Does your pet wish to follow you around? Sit on the couch when you sit on the couch? Go outside once he sees you heading to the door? If the solution is affirmative, it's safe to mention that something you are doing, your pet will wish to try and do similarly. We think that includes dressing up. I love to dress up my furbaby Miss Mildred not only because she look cute and pretty but because it helps her to stay warm as she is a chihuahua she can become cold very easily so most of the time she will have a cute little play dress on , but when its cold and raining outside I will put on her warm coat that has legs to keep her warm all over then as she doesn't like to get her little feet wet I put ugg boot on her so she can run around and not get wet at all and it helps to keep my house dirt and sand free .

Miss Squeak Talks How To Stop Your Furbaby From Chewing !

Okay lets talk about your Furbay chewing you stuff and a few helpful tips and trick to curb this habit.  Inappropriate chewing could be a fairly common drawback in young dogs and stems from the very fact that puppies use their mouths as a way of exploring the planet around them. Chewing could be a traditional behaviour for puppies however becomes undesirable behaviour once it's directed towards inappropriate objects like your shoes, furniture, or maybe your hands and feet. If inappropriate chewing isn't corrected then it will cause wide scale destruction of private property, medical issues and erosion of the human-animal bond.

A dog’s deciduous teeth can erupt between 3 to eight weeks older and around four to 6 months older these teeth are going to be step by step replaced with permanent teeth. growth could be a painful method and puppies chew additional throughout this period of your time as a result of their gums are terribly irritated during this point and also the act of chewing relieves their discomfort. Inappropriate chewing is presumably to occur while the puppy is teething however if not corrected will become a long standing downside even after all the adult teeth emerge and growth ends.puppies use their mouths as a way of exploring the planet around them. chewing could be a traditional behavior for puppies however becomes undesirable behavior once it's directed towards inappropriate objects like your shoes, furniture, or maybe your hands and feet. If inappropriate chewing isn't corrected then it will cause wide scale destruction of private property, medical issues and erosion of the human-animal bond.

Rule out medical problems. The first step is to make sure that your puppy does not have any serious medical problems. Nutritional deficiencies caused by poor diet and/or intestinal parasitism can lead to pica which may be misconstrued as inappropriate chewing. Gastrointestinal problems may cause nausea which can trigger chewing as a coping mechanism. Therefore it is important to make an appointment with your veterinarian to rule out an underlying medical condition that may be causing or contributing to the dog chewing.

Puppy proofing. Look around your environment for possible dangers to your inquisitive puppy. Place household cleaners and chemicals out of reach along with potentially toxic plants. Electrical cords should be covered or made inaccessible to prevent chewing on them resulting in electrocution. Remove objects of curiosity that might appeal to your puppy such as shoes and socks, children’s toys and the like. Block access to rooms that have not been puppy proofed and consider crate training your dog for the times when he cannot be supervised.

Encourage appropriate chewing. Provide appropriate chew toys for your dog to enjoy. Each dog will have their own personal preference as to what they prefer to chew and play with. Be careful with rawhide and beef bones as determined chewers can whittle them down to smaller pieces that can be swallowed. They can end up becoming lodged in the esophagus or small intestine so supervision is recommended when giving these treats and be sure to take away any small pieces that might be swallowed. Avoid chicken bones since they splinter easily creating sharp fragments that can easily puncture your dog’s gastrointestinal tract. I prefer nylabones, greenies and dental chewsticks since they encourage appropriate chewing while combating dental disease. Dog toys such as balls and kongs may appeal to your dog, just be sure to select a size that is appropriate for your dog. They should be able to pick it up and carry it but it should be of sufficient bulk that it cannot be swallowed. If you buy your dog a kong type toy check, make sure the hole in the toy is not so big that the dog can get his lower jaw stuck in it.I have seen several emergency cases where a dog comes in with a toy stuck in his mouth. Do not give toys that resemble inappropriate items; for example do not give your dog an old shoe to chew on because he will not know the difference between the old chew shoe and a brand new pair.

Discourage inappropriate chewing. By following step two you will have already minimised the amount of mischief your young dog can get into. If you do find your dog chewing on something inappropriate correct the dog by taking the object away and scolding him. Direct his attentions to an appropriate chew object and give praise when he chews on said object. Gradually, your dog will learn what objects are his and which are not. Sometimes it can be difficult to discourage chewing if the pattern is already established. Taste deterrents such as bitter apple can applied to the object, the noxious taste will hopefully deter the determined chewer and he will learn to leave the object alone.

Engage in playtime with your dog. A tired dog is a good dog! Spend time playing and exercising with your dog on a regular basis. This not only reinforces the human-animal bond but expends energy that your dog might be otherwise directed to inappropriate chewing and behaviours.

Miss Squeak Talks Visitors and Your Furbaby

Training a furbaby to behave when guests visit.
Have you ever loaned a favorite tool or item to a friend and when they return it, it is ruined? I hate to say it, but friends can also ruin all the training you do with your pup. Guests can overwhelm a puppy, they can frighten him, teach him bad habits, and even more, in doing this they can turn your pup into a dog that annoys you, even after the guests leave.

Speak up
Visitors can create problems without realizing it. Even friends who are “dog people” can create problems, so be aware. You will hear, “Oh, he is so cute, don’t worry we don’t mind him jumping up.” Yes, they may not mind now, but perhaps this is going to be a 50-pound plus dog in six months, mum lives with you and she is unsteady on her feet. So, we don’t want him jumping up.
Or a guest will tell you, “It’s okay, we love dogs – he is only a puppy.” Then they proceed to get him overexcited and he dashes around the house like a crazy man; throw rugs fly everywhere and the heirloom vase rocks on its pedestal. In all too short a time your dog will be more than a puppy and your guests are teaching him that this dashing around your home is acceptable behavior. In such instances, what do we do? Most of us smile in annoyed embarrassment because we want to tell them not to do this ... but they are guests.
Do yourself and your pup a favor. Tell them – nicely – that you are working on his manners and obedience, and if they don’t listen, put the pup in his crate or on a leash where he won’t learn to be naughty.

Be in control
Another scenario is the complete opposite. Your guests may not like dogs and could even be afraid of them. They prefer not to be greeted by your dog. By showing this nervousness they can create unwanted behaviors. The pup will recognize the body language and smell of those who are afraid and he may show fear, sometimes even giving a growl of uncertainty. Such behaviors can be made worse if we become annoyed with our guests, and frustrated with the pup. When this happens we are not in control either of the pup or ourselves, and that is when we make mistakes.
Even if we have a well-behaved pup and well-behaved guests we can create problems. When we have a nice pup and it has some cute behaviors, we try to demonstrate these to friends who come to visit. Naturally, we are proud of our new family member and want to show off a little. Socialization with new people is good for the puppy. However, once more there is a danger to keep in mind.
With friends present we want the pup to behave perfectly but the guests themselves are a big distraction. The pup may be overawed, nervous, excited, or cautious; in fact he may not behave at all like you thought he would. In this situation, attempting to control him can create additional unwanted behaviour.

Miss Squeaks Tips To Walk Your Furbaby !

Here are some  tips on how to walk your dog and own the dog walk. When I’m out with Miss Mildred , I often walk about 4 other dogs at a time, sometimes even at the dog parkI'm in a safe area. I own the walk and i don't let them misbehave. I am the boss and  is why my dogs follow.

1. Walk in front of your dog.

Walking in front of your dog allows you to be seen as the pack leader. Conversely, if your dog controls you on the walk, he’s the pack leader. You should be the first one out the door and the first one in. Your dog should be beside or behind you during the walk.

2. Use a short dog leash.

This allows you to have more control. Attaching the leash to the very top of the neck can help you more easily communicate, guide, and correct your dog. If you need additional help, consider the dog leader collar. Always keep your dog's safety in mind when giving corrections.

3. Give yourself enough time for the dog walk.

Dogs, like humans, are set by the sun, so taking walks in the morning is great as they have more energy in the morning .  I recommend setting aside thirty minutes to a full hour. The specific needs of each dog differ. Consult your vet and keep an eye on your dog's behavior to see if his needs are being met.

4. How to reward your dog during the walk.

After your dog has maintained the proper state of mind, reward him by allowing him to relieve himself and sniff around. Then you need to decide the  reward time is over. It should always be less than the time spent focused on the walk. I have a male dog that loves too wee on everything and it has taking a very long time to train him to keep this mind on the job even if he want to wee on that last tree I just redirect his attention to what i want him to do and that keeps him knowing I am the boss and its has become much
more of  a  pleasure to walk him .

5. Keep leading, even after the walk.

When you get home, don't stop leading. Have your dog wait patiently while you put away their leash or take off your shoes.

6. Reward your dog after the walk.

By providing a meal after the walk, you have allowed your dog to "sing for their supper" by giving them a job to do before you feed them
And don’t forget to set a good example by always picking poo poo up  after your dog!
